​My name is Kara. I'm a baker, maker and perfectionist. I admire perfectly planned details. I will re-do something over and over until it makes me happy. 



When I was little, my aunt taught me to appreciate the small things in life and exposed me to a plethora of creative outlets. I have my grandmother to thank for my sewing skills and my inability to keep myself from licking the bowl.



I started Kara's Cakery as demand for my homemade sweets soared past anything I could have ever imagined. Maybe one day I'll be covered in powered sugar in my own small bakery in the city...



... but for now, I live with my loving, patient husband and two mischievous dachshunds in the suburbs. By day, I manage a broker dealer trade support team for a big, fancy investment bank. In my free time, I'm either decorating our house, designing some kind of paper suite or whipping up a big bowl of buttercream. 



I would describe my style as modern and simple.
