I think a cake should taste as good as it looks. That's why I invest as much time in the ingredients as I do on the decorations. 



... I also think that a beautifully arranged table full of cookies and mini créme brûlée can have just as much impact as a seven tiered cake. 



My favorite smell in the entire world is a stick of fresh, unsalted butter.
